I would agree with you. Although, I thought Theory's score was probably its most (only?) successful element.

No matter what takes Best Picture, THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL will be one of the top winners of the night.

I haven't seen all the nominees, but I have seen Budapest and Theory, and of these two, I feel they chose the right one.
