I'd say this title goes to Gus Van Sant's remake of Psycho. But this one would be pretty close, though, if it gets done (hopefully not).ITALIANO wrote:Most unnecessary remake ever, I'd say...

You are great
I will watch it. There are several theories on this crisis of course, and they are all widely discussed in Italy - on a daily basis. But I'm sure that this guy-s theory is very interesting.

Here is a condensed video of a lecture given in Cagliari by someone named Warren Mosler, who is an expert in this field, that explains what I am talking about. Yes, it is not relevant to this proposed Umberto D. movie; but, you might be interested in watching what he has to say if you have 20 minutes of time.ITALIANO wrote:No well, the unemployment rate is about 12%, which is still high of course, and the Euro isn't the real responsible of that, certainly not the only responsible.
But the movie won't have anything to do with Italy, anyway.

Not when it's set in NYC.ksrymy wrote:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1327604/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2
I just saw Umberto D. for the first time, and I cannot even begin to think of how anyone would try to remake it. Are they going to switch the political climate to the Berlusconi era or something?

Wonderful news! I always felt Umberto D. would be better in color and a revised ending. How about, before Umberto considers jumping onto the tracks, a guardian angel comes down from heaven and shows him what Rome would be like had he never been born?

I don't know how the hell they are going to try and pull this off. It has one of the most massive cinematic shadows hanging over it. I just saw Umberto D. for the first time, and I cannot even begin to think of how anyone would try to remake it. Are they going to switch the political climate to the Berlusconi era or something?
All I know is that this is disappointing though Dominic Chianese (Junior from The Sopranos) is a good actor and a good casting choice.
