It wasn't just that. There were black actors turned white, asian actors turned hispanic and other issues...

That and the fact that some of the makeup was shitty. Some good. I can applaud them for nominating it simply because of all of the crappy makeup work that does exist in the film.

I agree but apparently there was some controversy about some of the makeup on the film. Does anyone know what the issue was?
Some PC organization decried the fact that white actors were turned into Asians in one segment of the film.

I agree but apparently there was some controversy about some of the makeup on the film. Does anyone know what the issue was?

Pretty surprised about the Cloud Atlas omission, which I thought would have been a shoo-in for not only the nomination, but a win.

The Hobbit, Lincoln, and Men in Black 3 will be the nominees. Maybe Les Miserables instead of Men in Black, but The Hobbit wins this one regardless.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today announced that seven films remain in competition in the Makeup and Hairstyling category for the 85th Academy Awards®.
