Proving once again I am terrible at predicting, I technically only got one category perfect, in that my top nine listed for best picture were the nine nominated. My worst category, Best Song; although I did have that only two songs would be nominated on my NGNG.

I don't think it's Best Picture worthy either but I wouldn't be mad if they nominated Melissa McCarthy. She's wonderful.

Between Bridesmaids and The Help, the shit is really going to hit the fan at this year's Oscars.

I think the reason Bridesmaids is getting so much attention is that they want to tell the makers of The Hangover they don't know what comedy is...

Today's comedy standards are awfully low.

I honestly have no clue why audiences find this tripe worth seeing let alone remembering with such fondness.

It's not the raunchiness. Raunchy can be handled with finesse as in films like Horrible Bosses; Our Idiot Brother and even Change-Up. What these films had, though, were real actors, not mugging TV skit personalities. That's all this thing was, a series of skits, none of them particularly funny. So what that it was written by a woman? Women can be just as bad writers as men.

That's why I said it was by today's standards.
