Mister Tee plus Terrence Malick.... a match made in heaven. :D

What strikes me most in these early days of 2011 film awards is how little love there seems to be for The Tee of Life and Kirsten Dunst. Magilla's scoop on who makes up this group explains a lot about this particular list of nominees, though.

Only note of interest to me? They've clearly seen The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and War Horse and are not impressed.

I chekced out their website and from what I can tell their credentials are no more impressive than those of the National Board of Review, perhaps less so. At least the anonymous NBR crowd is purportedly serious about film. These guys are mostly web guys and gals with more of an interest in social media and video games. Thier favorite films run the gamut of Raiders of the Lost Ark to the James Bond films. Even the Washington Post guy isn't an actual film critic.

I'd like to thank this group for reminding me right at the top how loathsome this season can be. I really need to see some obscure group's list of NOMINEES for art direction, let along supporting actress.

Oh -- but it might predict the Oscars!!!

No more absurd than a nomination for Bridesmaids in the same category, but then I doubt they've seen a fat girl defecate in a sink before.
