Are we not having an overall show thread to comment on things that happened during the show/general observations/etc?

.... dammit.
HUGO was my runner-up prediction, but this is still bad. If Lubezki had to lose, I guess Richardson is the least painful choice.

I just saw Nick Nolte and good lord he's turned into James Coburn's doppelganger.

He's also gone stone deaf, the poor guy. Father Time is cruel.

I think they're trying to drag out people showing up to see if The Help wins an award...but there is more counter-programming this year than in years past, so it could be that...

Everything's a repeat except Amazing Race, which is new this week.

Nope...it finished last week, although most PBS stations are re-running last week's episode from 7-9 tonight.

We'll also know just how strong the Artist flood will be. If it beats Tree of Life, then look for potential victories in Editing and Costume Design among others...we'll just hope that's not the case.

I got it from Brad Brevet's Ropes of Silcon. He got from an Israeli Oscar site called Cinemascope. I suspect they got it from one of the attendees representing the nominated Israeli film.

What's the source? I'm always reticent to accept anything purportedly suggested as the final schedule unless it comes from an Academy press release.

It's the official schedule. The only thing we don't know at this point is which presenters will present which awards.

How odd as they are going pretty much in sequence. Usually the awards are given out in a very haphazard sequence.

Hmmm. We'll know early on how the night goes. If the first 3 awards goes to The Artist, we know we're in for a sweeper.
