THE TEMPEST and BLACK SWAN being snubbed is further proof of how ridiculous this category is. They are going to have to accept that make-up and CGI are starting to blur. Maybe they should just fold the make-up category in the visual effects category if they cannot come up with good nominees.

I am adjusting my predictions to be:
ALICE IN WONDERLAND
TRUE GRIT
THE WOLFMAN.

Maybe the effects were too CGI heavy for this rather old fashioned branch ?

All year I've been thinking Alice in Wonderland, and, well, I guess The Wolfman (not that I've seen it), but couldn't get any further. Apparently, neither could they.

Some were calling Black Swan a hopeful here. Its first disappointment of the season.

Odd assortment. Why Barney’s Version? (I've only seen the trailer.)
