1) Agree with Magilla: not happening this year, either.

2) I'm pretty sure the only two best actor winners under 30 are Richard Dreyfuss and Adrien Brody, so possible precedents are automatically limited.
In fact, I think that all of them are shaky nominees, and have no shot of winning (except Natalie Portman)

Here are my updated predictions. The biggest changes have been in the acting categories. In general, I mixed the usual predix with a few out of the norm (though nothing impossible). Considering how great a Best Picture line-up this looks, I am assuming there is some movie I am missing. There has to be some sort of THE BLIND SIDE nominee to screw things up, but I cannot figure out what that is.

No. But the rules allow for it to happen. I'm guessing this is the year there will be only 3 nominees.

Yeah, Uncle Boonmee is a stretch but they did nominate The Milk of Sorrow which is a sign, I hope, that the Academy is starting to open up on weirder, more idiosyncratic/artsy fare.

Good first try.

Is it official that there will only be three song nominees?

Best Picture list could be Oscar's actual one, although I'm still not completely sold on True Grit. I keep taking it on and off my list on CinemaSight.

The most likely acting nominee from that, though, is not Jeff Bridges, but Hailee Steinfled, who is certainly more likely than Marion Cotillard. Also conspicuous by her absence from your supporting actress line-up: Amy Adams in The Fighter.

I think Best Actor will skewer younger with Mark Wahlberg (The Fighter), Ryan Gosling (Blue Valentine) and Aaron Eckhart (Rabbit Hole) all vying for the Bridges and Duvall spots.

Michelle Williams in Blue Valentine is also a potent contender in Best Actress, but the five you list look pretty solid.

Supporting Actor looks solid with Renner the only question mark over Sam Rockwell in Conviction and Guy Pearce in The King's Speech, neither of whom are likely to win, but both of whom are overdue for some sort of recognition.

The foreign film selections seem almost too good to be true, which probably means they are, and the foreign language selection committee will throw their usual curve ball and come up with something totally unexpected.
