Lora Hirschberg is also the first woman to win in this category beating 10-time Oscar nominee but still Oscarless Anna Behlmer to the punch in only two nominations.rolotomasi99 wrote:I loved that winner Lora Hirschberg kissed her wife on the lips and then the wives of all three winners were thanked in the acceptance speech. That leaves only Best Cinematography and Best Animated Feature as the two non-acting categories without a female winner.
Best Animated Feature has a legitimate excuse of being a relatively new category and it did have one female nominee in Marjane Satrapi for Persepolis but in a category that's been around for 83 years, Best Cinematography has never even had a female nominee yet.
