Firth was tremendous in King's Speech, so I wouldn't consider this a makeup Oscar. After all, I don't think anyone who voted felt guilty about giving Jeff Bridges his Oscar last year.

The thing that I hate most about the Oscars...once this happens once, it literally must go on forever....

The madness of the subjectivity of the Oscars...always in your mind...nagging at you...Jeff Bridges loses his nomination for Last Picture Show and this (specific) vicious cycle begins.

He started out his speech pretty well, but is droning now.

Makes up for him losing last year, but it is not just a "make up" award. He truly deserves to win this.
