QT is giving his nomination speech, so we're not far off from knowing the winner.

I believe they introduce each film nominee individually, and give them a plaque that has a silver medallion. And then the winner is announced and given a larger plage with a gold medallion.

Pictures of them with their nominee plaque usually show up on the websites during the night. This used to lead to some funny threads on DGA night back in the Goldderby days.

So far, they've given out trophies to Build It Bigger for reality and As the World Turns for daytime.

But here's a question about last year, don't they reserve the last director to speak as the winner? or do each of the nominees give a speech, then a winner is announced?

Because at this point, apparently both Kathryn Bigelow and James Cameron have given speeches.
