I don't think it matters if the song's any good. It's Hamlisch and the Bergmans. If they don't get nominated, I'll be surprised.

Yes, the sleeves with the specific categories generally do list the submitted nominees. For instance, even though I thought him an executive producer, Peter Jackson is one of two listed as Producer for District 9.

The Hamlisch song is more nomination-worthy than most songs of recent vintage. What's more, the score is probably the best of the year from among those I've heard. Makes the movie. (This coming from a guy who is nor particularly a fan of the film work from his heyday.)

Hey, I read them. :D I think it's interesting to see what they promote for awards. Out of curiosity, do they have the names of the people for the technical awards (sound mixing, visual effects, etc) on the cases as well? I remember actually getting my hands on a screener copy of The Contender many years ago and it had on the back of the box the names of all the people they were choosing for each category. Of course, as we all know, the only people that walked away with nominations were Joan Allen & Jeff Bridges, but still, it was pretty cool to see the promotional stuff.

Also, I think it would be pretty cool to see Marvin Hamlisch up for another award (after such a long absence). Haven't seen the film or heard the song and not sure if it's nomination worthy, but still, it would be interesting.
