Not exactly. I believe among their ranks are Ed Gonzalez and Armond White.

Let's hope not, I like her in Julie & Julia, but it's a caricature. And how frickin' often have people thrown fits about caricatures? But, of course Streep can do no wrong with people.

Anyway, to minimally back up Damien's thoughts. NYOFC isn't such a large group, but their history in Actress is spotty:

2002: Julianne Moore - Far From Heaven
2003: Charlize Theron - Monster
2004: Imelda Staunton - Vera Drake
2005: Keira Knightley - Pride & Prejudice
2006: Helen Mirren - The Queen
2007: Julie Christie - Away from Her
2008: Sally Hawkins - Happy-Go-Lucky

Btw, they're even worse at picking Best Picture winners. Chicago and Slumdog Millionaire were it for those selections.

Don't get caught up in these early awards -- especially with a nonentity like NY Online Critics -- presumably a bunch of bloggers. Things dont really fall into place -- and then it still can be a morass -until Globes and SAG (and maybe the Broadcast idiots).
