This is a terrible representation, rB. Where the Wild Things Are and Harry Potter are both included and won't be on Oscar morning.

Don't feel too bad, The Reader is nominated for Best Overall DVD in contention with Gone With the Wind; The Wizard of Oz; Up; Slumdog Millionaire and An American Werewolf in London. :D

She was given the Outstanding New Talent award, so I wouldn't say she was ignored.

Wow! This is a shocker, not the least of which is of course that it is a day early.

The Satellites (they dropped the Golden a few years ago) tend to go their own way, but even so...

One gathers they have not seen Invictus, Avatar or maybe even The Lovely Bones.

On the questionable side:

Has Emily Blunt become to the Satellites what Sharon Stone has long been to the Globes? Two nominations for decent, but not exactly award worthy performances?

Sandra Bullock for The Proposal, but not The Blind Side, or maybe that's another film they haven't seen.

No Gabourey Sidibe despite Precious nods for Picture, Director, Screenplay, Supporting Actress and Song?

They fell for the Weisntein push to secure a Bes Actress nod for Marion Cotillard in Nine.

The Messnger is nominated for Best Picture and Supporting Actor (Woody Harrelson) but not Actor (Ben Foster) or Supporting Actress (Samantha Morton).

James McAvoy, but not Christopher Plummer or Helen Mirren in nominated in support for The Last Station despite the campaign to get him a lead nod and Plummer a supporting one.

No Stanley Tucci for Julie & Julia despite nods for Picture, Actress and Screenplay.

Johnny friggin' Depp again?

On the good side:

Three women nominated for Best Director.

Hugh Dancy, Michael Sheen and Jeremy Renner nominated for Best Actor along with the expected Jeff Bridges, Colin Firth and the ubiquitous Mr. Depp.

Zooey Deshenal nominated for Best Actress.

The Stoning of Soroya M. pulls off nods for Best Picture, Actress and Supporting Actress.

Most of these will probably not factor in the race in a major but there are some crazy ones nonetheless.
