Thanks for the links...

First of all, crearly AR Rahman deserves some recognition here. Being a huge Lagaan fan I was excited hearing Jai Ho, an amazing song that easily has become a favorite...

Down to Earth, while not impressive has its nod secure. I can also see (sorry, I'm truly sorry) "I Thought I lost you" getting in... Springsteen is another Academy favorite, even though his song is in the very same style of his previous effort he might be getting a nod too.

The Call from Prince Caspian is a friendly song... I can see it making the list. Another Way to Die wasn't even considered by Grammy voters (except for its video), but if they want a showy show then that can be a performance a lot of people might like to see.

No song from HSM3 is actually good... Hope none of them gets a nod. And what the hell is Repo! A dark/musical/rock opera/comic book style/gore/sexually content/parental advises/Paris Hilton/Sarah Brightman film????? Has anyone seen this? Is actually any good?

My favorites... Little Person (the more I listen to it, the more Ilike it), The Story, Jai Ho... I don't care if they don't get a nod, they're impressive allthesame

I really hope to see Dracula's Lament nominated. And a muppet should perform it. Classic.

I think it's a terrible rule to make it only possible for 2 songs to be nominated from any one film. I guess Dreamgirls was the last one that will get 3.

On the one hand, yes, it makes it easier for other films to be nominated, but on the other it may cheat some really good songs from getting nominated in the future.

A song list with "Little Person", "Rock Me Sexy Jesus", "The Wrestler" and "JaiHo" would be perfect, even if the fifth song is from High School Musical 3.

I wouldn't expect any film with more 3 or more mentions in the list to earn a nomination. Especially with so many eligible for High School Musical, the likelihood of vote-splitting is a very real possibility.

"Screw the Man" from Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist is clearly eligible, based on this criteria. Why isn't it listed?
that pissed me off too, but the REPO, GENETIC OPERA song nominations kind of make up for it. it would certainly make for an interesting live performance if one of those songs were nominated. i am not sure what would be worse, miley cyrus at the oscars or paris hilton.

Dear God, i humbly pray that absolutely no song from High School Musical is going to be nominated. Also, please, don't let Miley Cyrus get nominated.

So, The Story is elegible. Nice to see it here... Don't know it it's gonna be eventually nominated but it's a song I've enjoyed this year a lot....

"Little Person" is the song of the year. Had no idea it was written for the film. Seriously thought it was an old Brion song that was shrewdly pulled for the film.

Maybe it wasn't submitted.

There are three or four original songs in Forgetting Sarah Marshall yet the only one eligible is Dracula's Lament which makes me think that it was the only one submitted possibly to avoid vote splitting.
