Either way, Danny Boyle was charming the whole night (his look whenever the film won any award was pure joy), and his speech was wonderful, loved the Tigger story. He has come a long way and he deserved an Oscar at one point: I guess might as well now.

I don't know, haven't seen the film but it seemed awkward when it won the sound mixing award over the likes of The Dark Knight, Wall-E, Benjamin (the scene they used was superb) and even Wanted... did it really deserve that? I mean you can argue about it being or not the best picture of the year but being so technically "the best"? is that defendable?

The remarkable thing about Slumdog's sweep is that the film was produced with such a small budget.

It's better than at least five of those films.

Love Danny Boyle and I'm so glad he won.

Let's put this in perspective:

No Country for Old Men, 4 awards
The Departed, 4 awards

Slumdog Millionaire, 8 awards

It will now join the following films in the 8-Oscar realm...

Gone with the Wind
From Here to Eternity
On the Waterfront
My Fair Lady
Cabaret
Gandhi
Amadeus
