This would, indeed, be a major highlight.....wishful thinking ofcourse!

I say Best Picture is presented by Olivia de Havilland and Tommy Lee Jones...the earliest Best Picture star still alive, and a star from last year's Best Picture winner.

Wouldn't the earliest Best Picture star (still alive) be Luise Rainer (The Great Ziegfeld)?

Even better! Although Gone with the Wind is the better known film, and the audience may respond better to that.

No. 2, though a long shot, is a distinct possibility. No. 6 would be the coup of the century. As for No. 8, Condon and Mark may make a mistake but it won't be either of those two. Nos. 9 and 10 are too tacky.

My bold predictions:

Jackman will be a hit but his Baz Luhrmann produced segment will fall flat on its face.

Clint Eastwood will co-present the music awards with Doris Day.

Let's try to make some bold predictions about the coming Oscars. Try not to just post your personal predictions, but something that might stand out and smack people about this year's Oscars or might be a super surprise. Here are ten, though I admit some of them are a bit of a stretch.

1. (not that bold, really) Italiano will hate the production...after all, it is a Bill Condon film. :)

2. A reverse Brokeback Effect occurs and Milk comes from out of nowhere to a surprise victory over front-runner Slumdog Millionaire.

3. Matilda will accept the Oscar (with Michelle Williams giving the actual speech) for Ledger's Supporting Actor win.

4. Hugh Jackman will embarrass someone in the audience by bringing them onstage with him to do a random bit of theatrical showmanship (based off his Sarah Jessica Parker hysterical bit on the Tonys).

5. Peter Gabriel will refuse the Oscar he wins in a surprise victory for his song to protest the minimizing of the Original Song nominees.

6. Olivia de Havilland and Joan Fontaine will appear and present an Oscar together.

7. X-Men Origins: Wolverine will appear as either the first or last clip on the closing-ceremony preview reel.

8. Condon and Mark will make at least one huge mistake this year, probably by choosing to present one of the Oscars for a minor category in the aisles or with all nominees on stage.

9. Heath Ledger will appear in the In Memorium segment again despite having been featured in last year's.

10. Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man) and Ed Norton (Hulk) will appear together to present an award.
