I agree about The Class, though the leading man is kinda sexy. Well, this makes things maybe a bit easier to predict.
The whole 3 selected by the Executive Committee thing was supposed to prevent films like Gomorra from being left off. And with this list, which 3 were included that the membership didn't like?
And what surprises me most is that Baader Meinhof Complex is still eligible. German courts are forcing the director to re-shoot and re-edit the film because it contains factual errors.

Apparently the new system has the same bug as the old, as Gomorra was left out. I have to say, I saw the coming attraction for Gomorra over the weekend, and I got a quick City of God vibe, so this omission doesn't shock me.
