Overall i guess i'm dissappointed...mainly because of the love of the reader, which i did think was a very good film, but there was just better and more exciting choices. I thought kate was amazing in both but better in revolutionary road and i thought revolutionary road was the better film. And i thought her performance in the reader was supporting, i don't know how they put her in supporting and do put hoffman in supporting. And although i did love rev road, the inclusion of michael shannon over more deserving nominees and the inclusion of brad pitt...just overall a dissappointing morning...but at least milk got a lot of love which is my favorite film of the year.

Never mind, I found them.

Oscarguy, remember when you laughed when I was predicting Wanted in the Sound categories?

Alphabet soup really got me this morning...leading me to confusion

I'd say the good is minimal and I'm not sure right now

the bad- Ron Howard, no Sally Hawkins, no James Franco (for 2 better roles than Downey's 2), and I thought Winslet was even better in Revolutionary Road, just hoping she can take the gold.

Is this a reminder that we need to focus on what the buzz is in December rather than in January?

Wow, Stephen Daldry must have something on each and every member of the Directors branch.

Sad to see Sally Hawkins snubbed.

I guess I should be thrilled Milk and Gus Van Sant are still in the mix, but beyond that, I'm just glad I didn't loathe Slumdog cause that's all that's left.

No Springsteen?! Just the Wall-E song and two from Slumdog Millionaire.

They really liked Milk - I was getting worried about that one. Several techs, including a most deserving costume design nod.

Mister Tee's maxim "the Academy's only surprises are to disappoint" certainly holds true today.

The Dark Knight didnt have a chance - and anyone who knoes something about the Oscars knew that. On this board, it was only me and Mister Tee.

Bruce Springsteen wasn't nominated for Original Song. Odd.

Apparently Tom O'Neil and Ben Lyons DO know Academy members better than the rest of us.

Wow, well, I can see the snub for Screenplay, but snubbing The Dark Knight for Director and Picture? For The Reader? I really don't want to hear them whining about how they don't get the ratings they used to.
