Well, so can we expect Slumdog Millionaire to be the first film since American Beauty to win the National Board of Review, Broadcast Film Critics and the Academy Award for Best Picture? For some reason, I just don't see it. Score, yes, screenplay, maybe, picture and director, I don't know. But the Cinema Audio Society nod does show that there's a lot of support behind this one. If so, then this can become a very odd year for nominees if this is the way the wind is blowing.
Perhaps Benjamin Button could find itself the bridesmaid instead of the bride come time to nominate Best Picture.
