Well, that was my first clue. But I suspect a gay pron starring Jeremy Bloom, Orlando Bloom and Brian Bloom would still be more entertaining.

So when I mentioned that this movie was by the director of 'Brick', you had a whole different idea of what movie I was talking about.

Shucks. When I read the title, I was hoping it would be the gay porn debut of Jeremy Bloom, Orlando Bloom and Brian Bloom...do we really need yet another con-man romantic melodrama?

No idea how much 'Brick' was discussed or heralded on this board, but I'll stand by that film as an insanely competent first feature that tightrope-walks a decidedly silly central conceit. Admittedly slight but a minor masterpiece of difficult tone. He has a new movie coming out called 'The Brothers Bloom' --

"The world's greatest con men, the Brothers Bloom, have made a living off of swindling millionaires with complex scenarios of lust and intrigue. Stephen (Ruffalo) and Bloom (Brody), and their silent partner and sidekick Bang-Bang (Kikuchi) team up for one last job, conning beautiful heiress Penelope (Weisz) by taking her on a tour of the world and relieving her of $2.5 million. On the way, Bloom falls for Penelope, which complicates the con severely."

This is another movie that could have a knowingly classical tone but if Rian Johnson pulls it off, it could be the sleeper of the fall. It's distributed by the Weinsteins and Mike D'Angelo just gave it a 76.
