More Political Stone
He hasn't made a movie that a lot of people agree was actually really good since Nixon in 1995. U-Turn divided critics pretty dramatically (I'm on the side that hated it). Any Given Sunday was sufficiently entertaining, but hardly worth writing home about. Alexander has few real fans. W. has also divided critics a bit, with most coming down on the negative and even those who liked it were fairly hum-drum about it (except Roger Ebert - What happened to that guy? Home Alone 3, Speed 2 and Mummy 3 were worthy of 3 stars, according to him).

I don't think he'll ever make a normal movie again...
Stone Plans Chavez Documentary
11 December 2008 8:09 AM, PST
Film maker Oliver Stone's next movie will be a documentary about Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez.
Fresh from the release of his biopic of U.S. president George W. Bush, Stone has already started work on his Chavez movie - which he kicked off after visiting the leader back in February.
And he reveals it was inspired by the influx of left-wing heads of state in Latin America in recent years.
The Oscar winner tells Variety, "It's about Chavez and the South American revolution."
The movie is due for release in 2009.
According to Variety, Stone is planning a second secret presidential documentary, which he has denied is about Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
