Lawrence J. Quirk, a film historian and author of many books on movies, actors and celebrities, died October 17th, 2014 at the VA hospital in Manhattan from complications of pneumonia. He was ninety-one years old. Lawrence had been an Army sergeant during the Korean War. His books include numerous volumes in Citadel Press' "The Films of" series, as well as The Kennedys in Hollywood; the national bestseller Fasten Your Seat Belts: The Passionate Life of Bette Davis; Totally Uninhibited: The Life and Wild Times of Cher; Bob Hope: The Road Well Traveled; and the novel, Some Lovely Image, among others. He is survived by his long-time domestic partner, William Schoell, with whom he collaborated on several books.
