Well, Jessica Chastain who is one of the most passionate and vocal supports of #ItsTime has found herself in a tight corner:

https://www.theguardian.com/film/2018/a ... hew-newton

I'd wager she never had any checks made on Matthew Newton. Newton has been big news in Australia for a number of years primarily because he is the child of entertainment royalty Bert & Patti Newton. The usual excuses are trotted out and there would be little doubt that there is a degree of truth to root cause of his problems. However some other factors come that may have also come into play that the media (to my knowledge) never mention:

1) Spoilt brat who always got what he wanted as a child;
2) Disappointment and/or frustration of his career in Australian taking off the way he would like it to make also have played a role in his behaviour.

He is virtually blacklisted from the Australian entertainment industry so its so wonder he has been working in the U.S. which leads me to the question - why doesn't the US throw back people like that to where they came from. To put it bluntly if Matthew Newtown was not an Australian citizen he would have been booted out of the country and marked as never to be allowed back in. Australia exports thousands of people on the basis of failing the character test if they do not have citizenship - I think in some cases they may even strip people of their citizenship. Its very odd that the US lets him live and work there.

Anyway, will be interesting to see how Jessica Chastain is going to handle this one.

Looks like the allegations made at George Takei may be false after all. I'm not surprised as they didn't seem too convincing in the first place. Nice to have George cleared.

Joan Crawford was a pussycat compared to this revelation about Mia Farrow.

Numerous allegations against Kim Ki Duk and frequent leading man Cho Jae-hyeon.

The Guardian needs more editors. Kim's film Moebius is from 2013 not 2004.

Really everyone, regardless of sex, should just wear whatever they want.
"Under the Twitter hashtag #NobodysDoll, German actor Anna Brüggemann has said she wishes to challenge the “patriarchal gaze” women habitually face at film festivals and award ceremonies"

How about wearing a burqa and REALLY make a statement? Not only hide their cleavage (which so many proudly display via plunging necklines courtesy of their favourite designer and which has been a freedom of expression for decades) but cover the entire body AND hide their faces under a veil to counteract that pesky "patriarchal gaze". Hope she knows that "gaze" ain't going nowhere :)

This is now getting just plain silly and stupid.

Jill Messick's family blames the 50-year-old producer's suicide on depression brought on by Rose McGowan unfairly implicating her in her charges against Harvey Weinstein.

Scarlett Johansson’s speech at last year’s Women’s March was one of the most moving of the day. I remember almost her entire speech now a year later.

I don’t think she’s necessarily deserving of ire. She seems like a really strong, outspoken, and articulate person.

I don't agree. It seems to me she's assessing each situation on its own merits as she sees it.

The prosecutor declined to prosecute because he felt he couldn't get a conviction (which is often the case for sexual assault cases, especially those involving children), but that's not exoneration.
This point needs to be highlighted again.
Ok, but I don't understand... Why couldn't he get a conviction? Were there proofs or not? Honestly, the crime Woody Allen was accused of was so serious that, with the needed proofs, he would have certainly been sent to jail (and rightly so).
