I'd gladly see more people mention some of their favourite films of the decade.

While I'm waiting for that to happen, I'll try to keep this thread alive by posting my list of top 100 lead actor performances of the decade. Now, I'm actually not totally comfortable rating acting performances, not the same way as I rate films themselves. Good casting, for me, is much more about getting the right actor for the right part than about getting the "best" actor. This list is perhaps more about performances which have impressed me, than about performances which, in a purely analytical sense, are exemplary acting achievements. At least a few of them are in large part about actors fitting the part very well.

As usual, comments and own choices are welcome.

1. Tim Robbins, Mystic River

Sabin, I agree. "Wonder Boys" is on it's way to becoming a classic from a very journeyman filmmaker. It's one of the few films that almost perfectly symbolizes the look of fall and the writing method. All of the performances are top notch with a script that is so at top of it's game.

Wow. Almost everyone has 'Wonder Boys' on their list, and a few in their top two. I really love the hell out of this film and it's one of the most beautiful studio comedies of the decade. It's one of those films where everything just comes together. I think it's a little flawed at times but it's pretty much everything I'm looking for in a comedy. Amazing soudntrack too.
