I know it's a personal thing but of your entire list you could easily have done away with most of what you mention on it. Especially the section which you rated 2/5.

I'm not sure how old you are but when I was younger I watched every new film that came along. With age I realised that I was wasting precious time watching the 90% of crap that comes out every Friday. I now concentrate mainly on old Hollywood or International cinema but very few of the new stuff that is coming out every week.

6 to 8 hours per night, plus an afternoon nap on most Saturdays.

Actually I've cut down this year. There are a number of films that I won't bother with (Open Season, Grudge 2, Saw 3, Stay Alive, The Wild) and I expect to cut back further next year.

The way that I am able to see so many films is that I don't watch much television (apart from the news & current affairs sometimes) and dedicate Thursday night to 2 to 3 films to help keep on top of the viewing without interferring too much with doing other things.

I also don't do shopping or cooking (my partner does all that) and we pay someone to clean, wash & iron.

Life's too short to waste on such mundane things if you can avoid them.

By the way I added The Queen which I saw early this morning and Volver which I failed to include earlier.

01/02: Sorry, Haters

12/31: The Good Shepherd and Dreamgirls join the ranks.

12/28: Did a bit of shuffling on the top end. Entered another (strangely acclaimed) film down in the lower part.

12/27: Up to 30 now. Little Miss Sunshine is lucky (or unlucky) number 30. Will watch The Black Dahlia later tonight, and either Dreamgirls or Apocalypto or Stranger Than Fiction tomorrow.

You're right. That must be what accounts for it appearing as though I disagree with Cannes and the church of the Dardennes.

Is 'Sympathy for Lady Vengeance' a 2006 release technically? I call bull$hit on Park Chanwook's vengeance trilogy, which says little to nothing profound about the cyclical nature of violence outside the first 'Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance', which was thematically fascinating but technically deficient. 'Oldboy' was just fun.
