I've added Ninotchka to my collection. The Greta Garbo box set is NOT available here but the movies included on that set can be purchased individually. Ninotchka is the only film from that set which I've seen before and I loved it so instead of spending huge amounts of money having to order the set from abroad acquiring the other movies, I'll just stick to the one I know I love to save on money.

Haha... So one of my New Year's resolutions for '06 is to not buy myself ANY more DVDs... not necessarily because of my financial situation (though the fact that I plan on buying a slightly used car in the next couple months will undoubtedly make the resolution easier to keep), but simply because I just revisited this thread and glanced at my post-Christmas posts from the last two years and gave myself a good laugh. My self-awareness about DVDs just sitting on my shelf unwatched is completely justified.

The loophole is that I'm didn't say anything about cancelling my Netflix account or the occasional purchase of DVD-R spindles. :;):

I wasn't able to go back to that store again. Instead, I got these:

Au Hasard Balthazar (Criterion)

Did you buy originals or pirated copies?

ORIGINALS of course! I would never buy pirated copies.

Though there IS a Chinese edition of the Buster Keaton box set that's really, really inexpensive (only HK$198, that's more than half the price of the original). I really don't know if this is a pirated copy or simply a cheaper, original edition. So I don't know if I should buy it.
