Massive bargain bin haul - none of these over $7.00:
"Somewhere in the Night" (Mankiewicz)
"The Day of the Locust" (Schlesinger)
"49th Parallel" (Archers)
"Black Narcissus" (Archers)
"Brief Encounter" (Lean)
"The Silver Fleet" (Sewell & Wellesley)
"The Way Ahead" (Reed)
^ all blind-bought

also "Pierrot le fou" (Godard) which I already owned but lent to someone who never returned it. At $2.97 a bargain anyway.

Also blind-bought online:
"Travellers" (Beyzai)
and three Kira Muratova films - "Passions", "The Tuner", "Two in One"

Already seen these, bought them online:
"The Closed Doors" (Hetata)
"A Piece of Sky" (Liénard)

Yes and no.

Most blu-ray players are locked to their respective regions.

In some cases they can play only DVD's from a particular region (e.g. North American Region A Blu-Ray player can only play region 1 DVD).

However some Blu Ray players may be region locked for Blu Ray but are multi-region for DVD playback only.

It just depends on what you buy.

I finally bought a Blu-ray player today. And picked up one Blu-ray disc. I planned to pick up two but none of the lower priced Blu-rays were titles I wanted to buy, some not just yet so I picked up one that's a bit more expensive and that is The Thing.
