If Chris Fujiwara is a pothead, it'd be news to me. In any case, I have to second any list that prefers The Devil Rides Out to The Lion in Winter.

Is this a site for potheads, or what? I never saw Skidoo so I have no idea whether I'd like it or not. I might. I am a sucker for Preminger's films, which I have been re-evaluating. Films that I initially dismissed such as Bonjour Tristesse and Bunny Lake Is Missing I find myself having a much deeper affection for now, and I always liked Adise & Consent and The Cardinal more than most. On the other hand, I still find The Man With the Golden Arm contrived if effectively acted by Sinatra and Eleanor Parker. I have never found anything funny in The Moon Is Blue and his Saint Joan puts me to sleep.

I still like Anatomy of a Murder a lot, even if its critical reputation has dimmed somewhat. Laura, though, remains my all time favorite Preminger.
