i just noticed this poll...what i a great list, never even noticed they gave that award to so many great performances in a row. I'll rank them

1. Brando
2. Bogart
3. Cooper
4. Olivier
5. Crawford
6. Guiness
7. Holden
8. Borgnine
9. Ferror
10. Brynner

Sorry to jump on that bandwaggon...almost voted for ferror, but i actaully would have nominated all 10 in the years so its a pretty fantastic list.

Hustler, I think you meant to agree with rudeboy.
With a Southern accent...
"Don't you dare lie to me!" and...
"You threaten my congeniality, you threaten me!"

-------

"You shouldn't be doing what you're doing. The truth is enough!"
"Are you and Perry?" ... "Please, Nelle."

Broderick Crawford - all that yelling.

Yul Brynner's performance was anything but forgettable. The King and I is not dreary at all. I would rank the winners in this decade as follows:

Brando, a 10
Guinness, a 10
Brynner, a 10
Bogart, a 10
Olivier, a 9
Borgnine, a 9
Holden, an 8
Cooper, a 7
Ferrer, a 6
Crawford, a 5

I LOVE Holden's performance!

Went with Yul Brynner - a forgettable performance in a dreary musical.

Which of these Best Actor winners gave the least impressive performance? In my opinion they were all great, but Holden the least so.
