Yes, of course. As Ryan says, they're your awards. I only point out the year of Oscar eligibility in case you want to go strictly by that.

They're your awards - do them however you want. I've been making comprehensive lists of awards each year from 1927 (I'm up through 1942 right now), and I always go based on release year in the country original while ignoring festival releases.

I've been doing this with a group of people on Facebook - about twelve or so people voting each time. I could post the results here if you all are interested.

It's a forgotten movie, but a well made one and, even by today's standards, quite effective. This story of a former paedophile who's trying to change and forget his past but is haunted by it is treated with sympathy and understanding - though of course this is a very decent paedophile, and a relatively innocent one (and, conveniently, one who never actually molested a child). Rod Steiger is very good as his psychiatrist, but I have to admit that the best thing in the movie is Stuart Whitman's surprising (and bold) performance - he really does convey his character's confusion, desperation, and self-disgust.

Bought it some months ago from Amazon. I think it was for about $10 or maybe even less.

Finally caught up with Guy Green's The Mark (1961), starring the Oscar nominated Stuart Whitman, Rod Steiger and Maria Schell.

The film is quite daring for it's time - about a suspected child molester. Whitman gives an excellent performance as the tormented man and he is ably supported by Maria Schell as the woman who offers him comfort. The film has an excellent supporting cast in Donald Wolfit, Paul Rogers, Maurice Denham, Brenda De Banzie and Donald Houston.

Interesting to see Donald Wolfit and Paul Rogers together here. The stage play, The Dresser (by Ronald Harwood), starred Rogers and Tom Courtenay on Broadway. The part of ''Sir'', played by Rogers (and Albert Finney in the film version), was based on Wolfit.

Whitman's performance gets onto my list while Sidney Poitier (A Raisin in the Sun) gets bumped to the 6th spot!
