I watched Crimes and Misdemeanours last night for the first time in years. Its certainly among Woody's finest movies - and I fail to see how anyone can consider Martin Landau's superb, complex, moving performance anything but lead.

Damn right, Bruce, Do the Right Thing was robbed like few movies have been. Of course, conservative Oscar voters choosing such an incendiary and magnificent movie as Best Picture is highly unlikely. But really, Driving Miss Daisy? If that isn't the absolutely worst movie to win Best Picture outside A Beautiful Mind, then I don't know what is.
