Glad you finally caught up with The Whisperers. It's fast becoming a "forgotten" film.

Evans gave the performance of her life and one of the great female performances of all time for which she won every award in existence at the time except the Oscar which was making up for lost time in awarding Katharine Hepburn for won of her least award worthy roles.

Well I finally caught up with The Whisperers. Yes, Dame Edith is magnificent. And the film has a superb score by John Barry.

However, I still maintain that my favourite female performance of 1967 was by Anne Bancroft in The Graduate.

Looks like the only major 1967 film you have to catch up with is The Whisperers for Edith Evans' magnificent portrait of the resiliency of of the human spirit. Happy Eid.

Finally caught up with In Cold Blood. What a magnificent film. The Academy members who voted for Dr Dolittle in the best picture slot instead of Brooks' film, should be tarred and feathered. As today is Eid day here in Pakistan, I'd like to be generous and not wish those members to be hung upside down in addition to the tarring and feathering!

Have added this film to my list below.

Now to watch Capote.

C'mon, Brucie! I know that Anne disappears a bit in the final act but there's still more than enough screentime to warrant leading status.
