R.I.P. Elizabeth Wilson

Whether they are behind the camera or in front of it, this is the place to discuss all filmmakers regardless of their role in the filmmaking process.

I'd obviously seen Elizabeth Wilson previously in The Graduate, but I didn't truly register her as a singular entity until I saw her as Mrs. Newquist in the film version of Little Murders. I'm surprised the obit didn't mention it; she and Vincent Gardenia had both done the triumphant off-Broadway revival and repeated their roles in the film, boosting both their careers enormously. (Fittingly, they won supporting Tonys on the same night a year later)

Anyway, after that I became a devoted fan of Wilson's, and was pleased to see her several times on-stage, in Sticks and Bones, Morning's at Seven and A Delicate Balance. Her film career never really brought her The Big Role, but she was always memorable, even in brief appearances like in Nobody's Fool. A wonderful actress.
