I grew up with those movies, too (the disaster ones, I mean). The Morning After gets a pass because it’s catchy and the lyrics make sense in the context of the movie. But sorry, We May Never Love This Way Again is pure dreck. Of course, many Oscar-winning songs are. I would have given it to Blazing Saddles that year.

I'm a fan. Both those songs and the films they were from are from my childhood. I very much deserved two time Oscar winner.

I doubt many people here would be fans, but two-time Oscar winner. And The Morning After was a number one record.
