Turn out Agnes Varda was not the last living feature film director from the 1950s. Others include Michel Deville, Roger Corman, Bert I. Gordon, Monte Hellman & Toshio Masuda.

Though 90, still a bit of a shock. Her last film played at Berlin recently. She was as far as I know that last living director to have made a feature film prior to 1960. There is no one else from the directors chair (not counting TV or shorts) left.
