Swiss director whose 1973 film L'Invitation was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film. He also launched Isabelle Huppert's career with The Lacemaker (1977). Funnily enough I watched one of his films, The Wonderful Crook (1974) with Gerard Depardieu about 2 weeks ago after spending years of trying to track down an English friendly copy. He didn't make many films but what he did counted and are well worth seeking out:
