R.I.P. Steven Hill

Whether they are behind the camera or in front of it, this is the place to discuss all filmmakers regardless of their role in the filmmaking process.

Excellent actor, and one who will always be remembered due to Law & Order's eternal life in reruns. Loved him in Running on Empty as well, where you definitely could feel a lifetime of sadness and lost possibilities between him and Christine Lahti. I also have a good deal of respect for the fact that he willingly gave up career possibilities due to his personal religious convictions.

WE tv is doing a marathon on Tuesday of five Law & Order episodes:
"Terminal"
"Burned"
"Under the Influence"
"Bad Girl"
"Monster"

I've remembered that final wordless shot of "Terminal" ever since I saw it, and it's been years.

Obviously most prominently remembered for Law and Order, but he was excellent in Billy Bathgate -- runner-up at the NY critics that year. And his scene in Running on Empty was widely seen as the film's highlight.
