Actor Franco Interlenghi dies at 83

(ANSA) - Rome, September 10 - Actor Franco Interlenghi, who made his debut in De Sica's Sciuscia' / Shoeshine at the age of 15 before going on to appear in other classic films by Fellini (I Vitelloni), Antonioni (I Vinti) and a few Hollywood productions (The Barefoot Contessa and A Farewell to Arms), has died in his Rome home at the age of 83, his family said Thursday.

Interlenghi made memorable appearances in Fellini's I Vitelloni and Antonioni's I Vinti and also worked with Luchino Visconti in his stage adaptation of Death of a Salesman.

Married to Antonella Lualdi, he had a daughter, Antonellina Interlenghi, who is an actress as well.
