Supporting Actress 42. I was quite shocked to realise that I've seem all of these nominees, apart from Susan Peters. Not a fan of Mrs Miniver, although both Wright and Witty are memorable. Gladys Cooper is wonderful as the archetypal dragon mother, but I have to give the edge to Agnes Moorhead in Ambersons.
Bog, this one would really tear me up. Best director, 1968.

1994 Screenplay. Tough choice. Bullets is far from Woody Allen's best; Conventional wisdom seems to be that it was the last of his great films, but in the years since I think he's made at least three movies that are worlds better. Don't care for Pulp Fiction. (Jackie Brown is worlds better.) The other three are all excellent, worthy winners. Four Weddings is a great Romantic Comedy, one of the best of its genre; Heavenly Creatures is far beyond anything else Jackson has done; but it's Red that I'll have to go with.
So Red over Pulp Fiction.

I wouldn't have passed 2001 Best Picture if I'd have realized it wasn't going to DWS...but the last list I saw, DWS was at the top and I was at the bottom, so he was my target.

What's happening? Did I miss my turn? I get Best Picture 2001 still?
Either 'Gosford Park' or 'The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring'. I'm of two minds. 'Gosford Park' is one of the strongest depictions of the parasitic relationship between the rich and the poor that I've ever seen, so it's my choice. Although gun to my head, 'Fellowship' is the one I would watch right now. I would choose 'The Two Towers' the following year.

Well, I've only seen two of the films (Green Mile and Talented Mr. Ripley) and I can say for a fact that the Green Mile adaptation is CRAP and Mr. Ripley wasn't that great to me. So, I'll shift the winner from Cider House Rules to the film I've heard the best about in regards to its screenplay: Election.

Okri: Best Lead Actor in 1995
Replace Nicolas Cage with Sean Penn
Easy pick. The academy may have screwed up the best picture lineup, but they aced the leading performers. And while I have no problem with Penn's victory for Mystic River, I wish it was for Dead Man Walking instead.
