Come Back, Little Sheba -- Warren Low
Flat Top -- William Austin
The Greatest Show on Earth -- Anne Bauchens
* High Noon -- Elmo Williams, Harry Gerstad
Moulin Rouge -- Ralph Kemplen

Haven't seen Come Back, Little Sheba nor Flat Top (actually haven't heard of Flat Top until today!). Out of the other three, High Noon clearly deserves this one. The Greatest Show on Earth is accurately edited and its rythm throughout the whole film, though dated, is fine. On the other hand, a few years ago (maybe two) I saw Moulin Rouge. I was imppresed by the film as a whole, and I had to ask myself why didn't it aged better in people's mind, in movie history. I know it ain't a masterpiece or something like that but it is very enojoyable and it made a respectful and aching portrait of a very well known character and, even for its time, it doesn't fall in all the stereotypes of biopic films. José Ferrer did a great job... so even if it is for the novelty of seeing this film Kemplen gets this award.

Original Score 1988

Without 'The Last Temptation of Christ' or 'Cinema Paradiso' in the line-up, the winner is easily George Fenton for 'Dangerous Liaisons'

A great lineup of film scores, all fully deserving of the nomination.

My choice goes to Philip Glass for The Hours

No. Actually, Okri will pass a category directly to mrlg which will commence the new lineup. You just had a turn three people ago.

And, apparently, Reza doesn't get "full" immunity. ;)

It's not. I've just been away from the board lately and people haven't been taking their turn without prodding. Okri, pass on a category. (I'm allowing the Bette Davis win here, by the way).

Also, mrlg, you've been added to the game and will take the first position in the new lineup which is posted below:

mrlg (4 Passes, 1 Undo, 1 Immunity)
Cinemanolis (1 Pass, 1 Undo, 1 Immunity; Previous Passes: Picture ’99, Actor ’48, Actor '45)
Harry Goldfarb (2 Passes, 1 Undo, 1 Immunity; Previous Passes: Actor ’79, Picture ’34)
FilmFan720 (1 Pass, 1 Undo, 1 Immunity; Previous Passes: Picture ’55, Actress ’06, Actress '77)
Sabin (1 Undo, 1 Immunity; Previous Passes: Film Editing ’00, Adapted Screenplay '75, Music Score '64, Cinematography '77)
rudeboy (1 Passes, 1 Immunity; Previous Passes: Director ’52, Picture ’69, Supporting Actor '71)
Reza (1 Undo, 1 Immunity; Previous Passes: Picture '83, Picture/Artistic Production '27/'28, Picture '54, Director '07)
rainbard (1 Pass, 1 Undo, 1 Immunity; Previous Passes: Supporting Actor ’84, Original Score ’77, Actress '49)
The Original BJ (1 Pass, 1 Immunity; Previous Passes: Supporting Actor ’03, Picture ’77, Actress ’39, Undo Picture '74)
Flipp (1 Pass, 1 Immunity; Previous Passes: Original Song ’88, Actor '84, Actress '80; Undo Actress '99)
Okri (1 Undo; Previous Passes: Supporting Actor ’77, Picture ’43, Actress ’58, Supporting Actor '74; Immunity Actress '72)
OscarGuy (2 Passes, 1 Undo, 1 Immunity; Previous Passes: Cinematography ’79, Director '34)

temporarily out of the game: barrybrooks8 (1 Pass, 1 Undo, 1 Immunity; Previous Passes: Picture '61, Supporting Actress '95, Actress '35)

If I'm allowed to give it to Bette Davis I do. If not, then to Grace Moore. Just not Norma Shearer.

Is the game on pause right now? It sorta feels like it.
