Well, that was very lousy, even if not compared to the Peter Jackson's trilogy.
To be fair, a lot of people were introduced to Lord of the Rings through Bakshi's film before Jackson's trilogy was released. There are a few intriguing scenes still, especially with the odd mix of traditional animation, rotoscoping, and silhouettes.
Well, thats why i gave the film 2.5 instead of 1. :)

The Beales of Grey Gardens (Albert Maysles/David Maysles) - 7/10

I picked this up thinking it was the original 1975 documentary. I didn't know it was actually a sequel of sorts. But still, I enjoyed it enough to want to see the original.

Rudo y Cursi (2008) Carlos Cuaron 4/10

Tiresome and pointless.

Tyson (2008) James Toback 4/10

Genova (2009) Michael Winterbottom 4/10

Winterbottom is one of the most interesting English directors working today. Every film is a completely different journey. Unfortunately this one, beautifully filmed, leads to a dead-end.

Kit Kittredge An American Girl (2008) Patricia Rozema 7/10

Charming film and nothing like anything the Rozema has directed before. I was surprised to learn that the film's budget was only 10 million dollars. Gorgeous production design, costumes and photography with delicious acting by all and some clever story telling. It's a shame that this film appears to have been barely screened outside of the U.S.

Blind Loves (2008) Juraj Lehotsky 4/10

Wonderful Town (2007) Aditya Assarat 4/10

Home (2009) (Yann Arthus Bertrand)

5/10 beautiful cinematography inserted in a boring documentary narrated in off (The spanish version has Salma Hayek´s voice: help!!!!) with no innovative elements regarding the environmental subject.

Your attesting would be applied to what you have seen of the mis-translation and the original translation and how much better the correct translation would have been...at least in what you saw.

I'm not sure what I can attest to not having seen the supposed properly translated version but the version I watched is more ghastly than ghostly.

Låt den rätte komma in /Let the Right One Come In/ (Tomas Alfredson, 2008)

5/10

Could have been great, but failed to achieve anything. Boring.

Äideistä parhain /''My Mother''/ (Klaus Härö, 2005)

9/10

A little known film from Finland. Very emotional, well written, superbly acted with beautiful cinematography.

Actress Maria Lundgvist is tremendous.

Pierrot le fou (Jean-Luc Godard, 1965) between 7.5 and 8/10
--The second time I saw this film, and I liked it more this time. Still, I don't think that the film is quite as good as its reputation. I just think that there are too many weak scenes in it that don't work, especially during the second half.

Choke (Clark Gregg, 2008) 5/10
--For whatever reason I expected this film to be a bit better than this

Gion bayashi (Kenji Mizoguchi, 1953) between 9.5 and 10/10

Meet John Doe (Frank Capra, 1941) 6/10

Cléo from 5 to 7 (Agnès Varda, 1962) between 7.5 and 8/10
