- Favorite Film ever! (according to your mood right now. We understand it is impossible to give a categorical answer): Schindler's List / The Discreet Charm of the Burgeoisie

- Favorite Comedy Film: Annie Hall / About a Boy

- The Guilty-Pleausure film you adore the most!: Ghost

- Favorite Courtroom film: 12 angry men

- Favorite Western: Giant

- Favorite Romantic Comedy: When Harry meet Sally

- Favorite animated film: Dumbo, followed pretty close by Beauty and the Beast, Wall-E and Spirited Away.

- Favorite Drama: The English Patient

- Favorite Belic film: The Bridge on the River Kwai

- Favorite musical: Lagaan / West Side Story

- Perfect film for a first date: The Dreamers or Trainspotting

- Best film to catch (or have catched) with your parents: The Green Mile, as corny as it may bey, it's one of mom's favorite.

- Best film to catch when you're deppressed: E.T.

- Favorite Academy Award winner as Best Picture: Schindler's List? Rebecca?

- Favorite Europpean film: The Discreet Charm of the Burgoisie / All about my mother

- Favorite African film: Haven't seen enough films. Tsotsi?

- Favorite Asian/Australian film: Raise the Red Lantern

- Best Comedy scene ever: Some scene from The Birdcage (probably the manly manners teaching). Recently I saw a few scenes from Liar Liar and I have to admit I couldn't stop laughing.

- Best musical moment in a film: America from West Side Story, Do re mi from The Sound of Music, Tu vuo' fa L'americano from The Talented Mr. Ripley.

- Best sex scene (Porn is not an option!): I like how the sex scene in Cold Mountain was directed.

- Most awkward/dysfunctional/non-believable/what-the-hell-were-they-thinking couple in a film (not necessarily romantic): Ioan Gruffudd and Jessica Alba, The Fantastic Four.

- Best little/forgotten or little known film that everyone should see at least once: Kolya.

- Best screaming or nervous breakdown scene: "Give my daughter the shot!"

- Best cinematography ever: Dr Zhivago or Barry Lyndon

- Favorite score: Dr Zhivago or The Mission

- Film you can watch and watch and watch eternally without getting tired of it... E.T.

- Best film to eat popcorns: The Lord of the Rings trilogy. However, I've been thinking there's this kind of films that recently has given a nice touch to what might be considered as commercial: Michael Clayton, The Interpreter, 3:10 to Yuma, The Prestige, among others. I just hope commercial films were more like these ones rather than Norbit.

- Favorite kiss ever: The beach kiss from From Here to Eternity. Brokeback's "hidden" kiss affected me when I first saw it, too many elements, particularly the effect of the third person watching it: the amazing William's face.

- An iconic scene that quikly comes to mind: "As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again!" and then that amazing camera zooms out and everything is red and amazingly beatiful... and that tree...

- First film you ever watch in a big screen: Not sure... it could have been Short Circuit (circa 1986).

- Worst experience in a movie theater... What film were you watching?: Godzilla, the one time I wanted to get out of the theater the most.

- Worst performance with an Oscar: Arkin comes quikly to mind.

- Best performance without the Oscar it should have received!: Ian McKellen quikly comes to mind. Burton is in a strange place.

- Best child performance: Justin Henry

- As in Friends, in case you are in a relationship, which artist you could make out with and be free to do so... Just one!: Megan Fox

- Favorite Oscar telecast: 1993

- Favorite Oscar moment: Best Original score in 1997. Anna Paquin's win.

- The Most pleasent surprise with a film after low expectations: 3:10 to Yuma

- Worst disappointing film you were waiting for anxiously: Not the worst but I had so great expectations about Doubt...

- Favorite Director: Kubrick

- Favorite Actor: Contemporary, DiCaprio.

- Favorite Actress: Have to say Streep.

- Most recent add to your iPod or last CD you bought: Anjulie's Boom and R.E.M.'s Eponymous.

- Most desireble man or woman (according to your tastes)... Right now, Megan Fox.

- If you are straight (or "predominantly straight" - and don't laugh!) what male personality could make you feel at least curious: Gyllenhaal?

I just came across a series of posts I had saved from 1999-2000, and the level of intensity and passion around here was pretty amazing.

And I wish Max would come back . . .

Actually there is quite a lot of discussion taking place in the best actress polls.

There might be more in the Nomination Elimination and Best by the Best games but some of us have been biting our tongues because we know as soon as we advocate for a certain film or performance someone else will come along and zap it if it's an actual nominee or block it by preserving or nominating something else in its place.

When a certain daytime soap opera is telling more compelling, daring and original stories (and superbly acted into the bargain) than all but one movie I've seen this year, I don't know if I have the energy or even the desire to care anymore.

This is silly, but I've been wondering why are we so lethargic nowdays... This used to be an exciting and passionate site and suddenly, through the years and thorugh the rules the excitement has gone. As I said a few days ago, there's no discussion in the discussion board. And I come here, in a regular basis cause I think a lot of the guys (and the eventual girls) that are here actually have something to say about films...

I came to realize that probably one of the possible reasons is that we are too few of the too usual and regular suspects and we ended up knowing (or assuming we know) automatically what evrybody thinks about everything we have to discuss, specially about older films but this applys to politics and our tastes in music and so on...

So, let's try a little test... it is mainly about films but tehre are some other topics too, so in the end it is absolutely about ourselves. Quik answers, simple answers might remind us who are we... and we can discuss this eventually if some of the answers are not expected from a specific member!

It's silly, it's teenage-like...

So... If you are in the mood, as Jorge Drexler would say: "Pero yo creo que después es un poco de cutipaste" (but I think that eventually -everything- is a little bit of cut&paste).
