Yeah, I think you might be using the term "twink" a tad loosely here, Pen.

That said, there appears to be just about nary an errant body hair in this lineup, even if most of the guys are artificially pumped up.

But Latter Days, Trick, Get Real and The Broken Hearts Club in the top 10 when Bad Education barely cracks the top 50 (and surely only because of GGB's tighty-whitey pool laps, not Almodovar's filmmaking prowess) = flush this list down the toilet.

Yikes…not all of us. I loathe twinks.

Great choices, Hustler. The former makes me feel terrible and almost the entire cast died of AIDS, but it's a classic of gay cinema and captures the vitriolic self-hatred that many gay men of that generation felt. The latter contains one the most beautiful endings of any film of that period, gay or straight.

I'll add:
All About My Mother
Rebel Without a Cause
The Children's Hour
Night of the Iguana
Ma Vie en Rose
Mysterious Skin
I was thinking of that Flipp. It´s so sad. Great actors, specially Kenneth Nelson who died in 1993. The film captures the exasperation of that generation.
As for Longtime Companion, Bruce Davison delivers a remarkable performance. Norman Rene represents another great loss.

One of the writers for the site voted for Ordinary People, arguing that, as a teen, he viewed the Timothy Hutton character as gay and his parents not accepting it...so I guess LOTR would be valid.

I haven't seen the wide array of films you guys have, but my ballot would probably be:

Brokeback Mountain (to counteract the possibly too pervasive thought that everyone else will vote for it...that thinking has killed too many strong Oscar winners, IMO)
C.R.A.Z.Y.
Kinsey
Angels in America (but is it even eligible?)
Far From Heaven
Gods and Monsters
The Crying Game
Torch Song Trilogy
The Color Purple
Victor/Victoria
Midnight Cowboy
Rebecca (would it really qualify if it's implied and not specifically stated?)

I would put LOTR in there for its obvious homoerotic overtones, but I don't think they would qualify that. :)

You know this is a poll over at afterelton.com, right? Adding them here isn't going to help them in that poll.

Victor Victoria, Death in Venice and Happy Together are among my best. I´m still waiting for Tropical Malady.
