Here is the first wrap-up of the 1990s. If the lists keep coming, I'll be more than glad to keep tallying...it is interesting to see the board's opinions, and it highlights some films I need to see.

Pulp Fiction (dir: Quentin Tarantino) [34]
3. Taste of Cherry (dir: Abbas Kiarostami) [33]
4. L.A. Confidential (dir: Curtis Hansen) [27]

6. GoodFellas (dir: Martin Scorsese) [21]
7. Schindler's List (dir: Steven Spielberg) [19]
8. Beauty and the Beast (dir: Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise)

Let me just preface this by saying that yes, just about every film on this list is American. I'm sorry. I'm trying to remedy this problem by seeing as many foreign films of the nineties as I can but right now, these are the ones that I love the most dammit!

1. Rushmore (Wes Anderson)
2. The Thin Red Line (Terrence Malick)
3. Schindler's List (Steven Spielberg)
4. The Piano (Jane Campion)
5. L.A. Confidential (Curtis Hanson)
6. GoodFellas (Martin Scorsese)
7. Unforgiven (Clint Eastwood)
8. Dazed and Confused (Richard Linklater)
9. Fight Club (David Fincher)
10. Beauty and the Beast (animated)

Apologies for lack of foreign films (save number two); There are actually a lot from this decade that I've missed.

I was surprised that I gave Clint Eastwood three mentions, but I think he warrants it; I can't think of one I'd leave out.

Lots of great films might've been on this list if I'd been in a different frame of mind when making it, like: Ed Wood, Schindler's List, Nixon, The War Zone, Mother and Son, Dead Man, Short Cuts, The End of the Affair, Paradise Lost, etc.
