Another four-way tie. I hate to give up y vote for David Lean but Federico Fellini is clearly the director of choice this decade given votes for tow of his films so I am switching my vote from Lean to Fellini for 8 1/2 in order to break the tie.

This is a really tough one. How can you chose between Wilder, Hitchcock, Fellini, Lean, Kubrick working at their peak and Nichols ushering in a new cinematic style at the end of the decade?
For me, having already voted for Hitchcock in the third decade and Wilder's film as the best of this decade. it comes down to a choice between Fellini and Lean. If Fellini, which Fellini, the more critically acclaimed 8 1/2 or the more accessible La Dolce Vita? I have to go with Lean, but I reserve the right to change my vote if it's needed to break a tie.
