Best Director 1927/28-1937

Post by Big Magilla »

Except for Frank Lloyd, the best of a dull 1928/29 line-up, these were impressive picks.

For me it comes down to a choice between John Ford for The Informer and Leo McCarey for The Awful Truth. Ford will have another chances here; McCarey in the year of his dual triumphs with The Awful Truth and Make Way for Tomorrow will not. He wins the toss-up.
