I just checked the Wikipedia sight for The Bad And The Beautiful, which claims that its 5 awards is the most for a film not nominated for Best Picture.

I think The Bad and the Beautiful is the all-time champion with 5, but Spartacus came as close as The Matrix with 4.

Most Oscars For A Film Not Nomiated For Best Picture
With all the talk of Gravity winning 7 Academy Awards, but not Best Picture; and, how Cabaret with 8 awards is the film that won the most Oscars without winning Best Picture, I became curious as to what film won the most Academy Awards without being nominated for Best Picture. I think it is Terminator 2: Judgment Day, which won 4 awards. Does anyone know if this indeed is the case?
