Deserved best song winners through the years have often been from bad films. A few more examples:Reza wrote:The song "Last Dance" from Thank God it's Friday.
"The Last Time I Saw Paris" from Lady Be Good
"You'll Never Know" from Hello, Frisco, Hello
"Baby, It's Cold Outside" from Neptune's Daughter
"Mona Lisa" from Captain Carey, USA
"Call Me Irresponsible" from Papa's Delicate Condition
"The Shadow of Your Smile" from The Sandpiper
"Talk to the Animals" from Doctor Dolittle
"Evergreen" from A Star Is Born
"You Light Up My Life" from You Light Up My Life
"Flashdance...What a Feeling" from Flashdance
"I Just Called to Say I Love You" from The Woman in Red
"Say You, Say Me" from White Nights

Precious is the first movie to come to mind for me...that is an insultingly bad film with a really nice performance by Mo'Nique.
You see bad films deservedly winning a lot more in the technical categories, of course. How the Grinch Stole Christmas in Make-Up is another no-brainer

I thought Precious was fine.
Now, some performances I think deserved their wins when everyone else felt different are like Charlize Theron for Monster and Halle Berry for Monster's Ball. And truth be told, the underlying films aren't really that great.

I think Streep deserved a nomination for The Iron Lady only because the competition was weak, but not a win. Mo'Nique in Precious fits the description better.

Meryl Streep pops into mind for The Iron Lady. I'm sure there are others if I take the time to go look.

Deserved Oscars For Bad Films
Some bad films can still have a great part to them. So, what would consider to be an Oscar that was actually deservedly won by an otherwise-bad film. The first thing that comes to my mind is Best Original Song going to "Take My Breath Away" from Top Gun.
