really? are you certain?
I was until I just checked IMDB and then the liner notes on the booklet included with the DVD package of Fassbinder's BRD trilogy.

It was filmed between January and March, 1978, but not released until 1979.

Again some nice choices, but:

The Marriage of Maria Braun was a 1978 release in its country of origin.

It's Ann (not Anne) Sheridan.

I almost gave her '82, and Supporting Actress '77 too.

Ingrid Bergman very nearly ended up with that many from me as well--she'd be a very close second for Voyage to Italy in '54, Notorious in '46, and Gaslight in '44 (although 1944 has a lot of things I haven't seen), and I probably could've gone with her in some of those years just as easily. And I haven't even seen things like Stromboli (recorded it off of TCM a year ago, but the recording cut off before the end, so I haven't watched it) and Europa '51.
I gave Sissy Spacek 6 best actress gongs myself with one difference (Missing in '82 rather then Raggedy Man in '81, though she was my second choice for Raggedy Man & 3 Women in '77).

She's been my favourite actress for over 30 years when I first started getting interested in cinema.

By the way dws you have some great choices in particular Nathalie Baye & Maria Conchita Alsono. I hope that some of you guys will be inspired to seek out La Petit Lt. & Caught.

That's a pretty impressive table-run for Spacek. And I say that as someone who probably has four or five director citations up my sleeve for Brian De Palma.
